Why can't you use two finger zoom in/out on Carplay Apple maps? I guess I should try this on Google maps one of these days. Trying to figure out what works where has become a big issue with my limited time to think.

Yes, out of all the bugs and features, this is the one I want Apple to solve.
Why can my car's own map support pinch and zoom but Apple Carplay cannot.

Apple seems to want to solve what is easy and pretty not what is useful.

The sidebar is so frustrating. I really wish they would let us choose which apps are pinned there and how many of them.

Completely agree, this is essentially the dock for CarPlay yet things keep moving around. Bad UI is when things aren't where you expected to be with muscle memory and we've got in somewhere that's really important for this, driving a car. It should at the very least be an option.

This is all nice, but I’m still missing the killer feature. Adaptive noise cancelling. We have the microphone(s) in the iPhone, and the speakers in the Car stereo. It should be possible to enable some rudimentary form of noise cancelling (just hoping something).

It’s a feature of iOS 26 for cars that have screens that support multitouch.

Airplaying video to CarPlay (while parked) is a feature in iOS 26.

Gee. I wonder if I’ll finally be able to fill my entire display in my GMC Sierra with CarPlay, not just half of the display. But doubtful cuz it’s GM.

Interesting. I can already fill my 12.3” display with CarPlay in iOS 18, on my 2025 Toyota Camry.
