Seems like music added on my Mac running macOS 15.5 isn’t showing up on my iPhone on iOS 26b2. My iPad seems to be updating, and even looking at Apple Music on the web I’m seeing music I’ve added. Just my iPhone not working.

Y’know what’s funny? I can’t work this out - I’m running both iOS 26 and iPadOS 26. For some reason I quite like the visuals on the iPad but really don’t on the Phone. I honestly don’t know why my opinion differs on each. I obviously like the effects if I like the iPad version, right?

Is it because it seems more toned down on the iPad or something?

So many issues with this beta on 16 PM's that I'm glad I am a peasant with a 12. The 12 seems perfectly fine but many are having issues with 16 PM's. I guess I'll wait for official release before I consider upgrading.
Same here, my 13 is smooth as glass. No big issues at all. Runs perfectly fine for the way I use it. Seems the worst issues are with the 16's mostly.

I think a new feature is testing inapp purchases in TestFlight apps. Before it would always ask me to enter my password, now it works with faceid.

The amount of Apple apologists in this thread is crazy. Yes, it’s a beta - of course it’ll have some bugs and glitches.

But my god, it’s a piece of trash update. Phones running hot, AirPods not connecting, etc. are all basic things that shouldn’t break with the NINETEENTH release.

And yet they break every year. I don’t think this beta is any worse than the last five years around the end of June.
I had sworn off betas for my iPhone for several years precisely because of all the bugs in previous years.

The only reason I installed the beta this year (an early one to boot at dev beta 2), is so that I could try out the new CarPlay features. BTW, the new CarPlay works reasonably well, with the main issues being related to third party widgets... which makes sense since no officially released third party widgets actually exist yet.

Well you didn’t have to install it!

Is back tap working on beta 2, was working for me in beta 1. Not working on beta 2

I disagree. A beta version is a construction site. What you are describing are the basics and consequences of software development.

However, there are pieces of that software, that show the end results already. Some are quite questionable for sure. Like the UI from my point of view.

You’re complaining about the doors not fitting yet, while the house is being built.

Considering whether to revert to IOS 18.5/6 on my 16 PM for now due to higher battery usage. (backups in hand, all key data is backed up on cloud, watch not on beta) - but trying some mitigation techniques first:

I thought I'd try setting 'Reduce Motion' and 'Reduce transparency'. Initial feeling is this does significantly reduce battery drain (and the phone remains totally cool). Also noticeable that safari seems worse than many other apps, with slight warming below the camera - so another option there is to go back to using edge or another browser and see if any different.

Piece of trash update? Please. You must not be familiar with the beta process. They have to rewrite a lot of code and break things to make the upgrades possible. This always happens and always gets mostly worked out as the beta cycle progresses. Moreover it's not even the public beta, developer only so it's very early in the release cycle. Did you install it on your daily driver?

Anyone still having issues with messages not syncing across iPhone and iPad? It’s virtually unusable for me.

I have raised it with Apple and sent further info.

I'm seeing random "iCloud Sync" type delays or failures. Messages does sync up for me, but not until I go to one of my Macs still on macOS 15.5 and open Messages. Unfortunately, the Music app isn't syncing the library on my iPhone on iOS 26b2. Hoping for an update to try reinstalling again.. Anything else I've tried hasn't solved that issue for me.

Just done some more digging and I found on the iPad that one of my SIM numbers (dual on my iPhone) was disabled for receiving messages. I’ve enabled that and I am getting some through now - so it’s an improvement at least!

Sure - but there are some basics of software development you would think a team of very well paid engineers would have down pat right away. A phone software currently has a bug sending all unknown callers to voicemail. Come on.

How would most of these bugs be found if not installed on a daily driver?

How would people know that they can’t get incoming calls from unknown numbers? Even with the settings turned off and on, phone reset, etc.
