Loving this beta so far. Safari tab bar is now legible on white webpages. Devices are running cool. I think the battery life is going to be back to 18.5 levels, but need a couple days to test. Battery stats loading a lot quicker too.
Mine is getting hot but not that hot. I don’t get any message about battery temp.
I have been experimenting in the early evening and watch the charge progress. When I first connect the phone to the stand it takes at least 6 seconds to actually start charging and show the charging animation.
If I place the phone on an Apple MagSafe 1 puck it begins charging within a second or so.
So you’re saying you think battery life will still be wall-hugger android levels.I think the battery life is going to be back to 18.5 levels, but need a couple days to test.
Well I have been off charger for 3 hours, listened to a lot of Pocket Casts, about 1 hr screen active, and 96% remaining on a 16PM. With beta 2 I would already be around 90% and beta 1 I would only be at 90% if I started the day with Low Power mode on from the jump. Light use, but so far I am impressed. So you’re saying you think battery life will still be wall-hugger android levels.
Total 💩. B3 is a little better, but I am still not sure how all of a sudden my fingers after being on iPhone since the original, are hitting V, B and N. Also, O and P are hard to click unless younarev (you can see N and V) hitting them straight on.How’s the keyboard on iOS 26 compared to the iOS 18 one? Still mediocre?
You’re probably right, but I’m going to hold out hope up until RC.It's probably not temporary. I don't see how they can fix the original crap accessibility liquid glass version without toning down the transparency / glass effect in some form.
The best of both worlds is probably going to be a hybrid, where it's the "can't read crap / not accessible at all" liquid glass from B1 and promo material in motion (e.g. when you scroll or when you tap it to change tabs or it morphs it's form, it goes full liquid glass or turns part of the area you tap into liquid) but starts to freeze up and become more frosted glass once it's settled down (e.g. when you stop scrolling or are no longer tapping it). The hard part is probably balancing the 2 states, considering the UI has a lot of subtle animations and movements (e.g. you need to ensure that notification content is readable on the lock screen when sifting through your backlog, without having to stop scrolling 24/7). There should probably be a threshold, e.g. not turning it into liquid glass with minimal movement but actual scroll.
(Insert some lazy joke about how it has to do with the temperature or relative humidity or some such)It seems like whether the glass is “frosty” or “liquid” depends on the content on the page?

My keyboard is broken when enabling ‘Reduce Transparency’. Bug report filed.
I think the corner radius and the font weights and colours are poor here. Could do with a tidy up. I'd call this 'fit and finish'. Usually tidied up in the beta process.... just found on the iPad, running Beta 3 - that´s definitely a sub-optimal usage of available space (at least in my eyes, maybe for the programmer it was optimal)

Have you tried toggling it in Settings? Is it just me or did the keys stopped “popping up” when pressed on the keyboard?
Clearly I’m missing it/where it is in settings…Have you tried toggling it in Settings?
