I’m coming from iPhone SE with iOS 18 to 13 Pro with 26.0, so I don’t know what the beta updates are or just part of the improved device, but I like a lot of small things.
Firstly though, I had to get used to the new interface. Still do somewhat, but it’s okay now, because I encounter far fewer bugs in the current release (such as black screen after swiping up from the bottom sometimes).
What I’d still like to see is way better detection of Back Tap. And smoother switching of sound destinations, though that will probably only significantly improve with the coming new HomePod mini. And a much more responsive access to Hide my Email: sometimes it takes more than 10 seconds, even with accessing the menu ‘directly’, using a Shortcut. Apple, just make it a standalone app like you have done with Passwords. Could be great.
I like the interface now that I’m used to it. Previously I thought to myself, if this is such a mess for me, how will it come across to a new user?
I really like the search bars at the bottom. Still adjusting to it but that’s okay.
The flash light turns on on my lock screen when I sort of Force Touch the icon. Elegant solution for preventing accidental activations. I have back tap to turn it off without looking. It does not always register the first time(s) but that’s acceptable for that function, as afterwards I don’t plan to do something else on the phone. It’s still easier for me (than turning off with icon).
After editing a picture: using HDR for the ‘save’ icon makes it stand out, really handy since my vision isn’t great.
