iOS 26 big ugly media icons for video playback - how to remove?

When playing a video, this huge 'glass' play pause button is in the middle of the screen as well as RR/FF buttons. Is there a way to reduce its size or change its opacity?
I'm shocked Apple has done this!

It’s just horrible. They don’t know what they are doing. This is not a design change, it’s just a skin, an ugly one
