I just want Siri to stop telling me "hmmm I didn't get that", "this is taking too long or something like that", or the best part, just ignores my playlist and plays 2 speakers out of 10 when I ask it to play everywhere....fun times.
My favorite is when my wife asks Siri to "Find my phone" and Siri responds with "You'll need to unlock your phone to use that feature".

Is multiple requests in one interaction available on the HomePod yet? That seems like a better option than crossfade.

Yeah I agree. I’d actually put bug fixes as my top priority. I realize they can work on both new features and bugs at the same time. But sometimes it doesn’t seem like they are.

If I could kill Siri entirely, I might like my HomePods somewhat.
But buying them was a waste of money for me.
So I’m gonna sell them off after I bought new Pioneer Bluetooth speakers.

Has anyone been able to download ios26 for HomePod yet....mine are still on ios18.6 and there is no option yet to download ios26 for HomePod (in Home Settings/Software Update)

How about native Mac support and menu bar controls. HomePod could be the ultimate central hub that took the old AirPort Routers and created a mesh network with HomePod minis, a wireless Time Machine backup not just for Mac, but iOS devices as well, an TV, and the speaker microphone arrays at present for music and home theatre playback that is expandable with more speakers. Throw in an iMac G4 like screen on top if you like.

"Are you getting it? These are not separate devices. This is one device, and we are calling it HomePod!"

This device is such an afterthought it’s maddening. The S series chip another fail, because margins, hold it back. I love it for music playback, and a host of other small things, but it just doesn’t work reliably the majority of the time.

Emotionally Overexpressive Siri: No longer limited to just voice, Siri now responds to queries with abstract Genmoji. Ask how your stocks are doing, and HomePod may respond with a todamoon rocket, sweating piggy bank or a burning dumpster.
While we're at it, can we set the voice to "angsty teenage girl", dripping with sarcasm in every response, to go along with the constant eye-roll emojis?

Couldn't this title have just been "iOS 26 Brings Crossfade to HomePod" ?

Also, it's 2025 I'm not sure how cross fading between songs is a thing. Here's Peyton explaining it back in 2013:

Best ever. Spent $99 Apple free polish #Siri!

Crossfade, a feature from iTunes 2.0 introduced in 2001 (24 years ago) and available to anyone with internet access for free. The interface looked identical and had a superior range of duration control

Beta testers who have the second HomePod Software 26 and iOS 26 betas now have an option to enable Crossfade. The toggle is a little bit hidden, but it can be found by opening up the Home app, going to Settings, tapping on a person's name, and choosing Apple Music.
who are these "Beta Testers" that have "the second HomePod Software 26"?
Apple hasn't released a 1st or 2nd beta for HomePods yet.

A nice thing to have, for sure! I’d be more impressed, however, if Apple could fix the issue of songs occasionally dropping out. These things are designed to play music, and having bits of songs just not being played is extremely frustrating.
