What I’m missing is information on Carplay changes in iOS 26. And more specific the integrations with cars. For example, my Kia EV9 has Carplay (duh) but the apps do not have access to the SoC (State of Charge) information. So for once the same app (Abrp) has more features on Android Auto than on Carplay.
That's OK, my CarPlay doesn't tell me how much gas I have in the tank either. 😉

i’ve been using 26 on my device, and imo these changes are a step backward. hiding controls and forcing swipes is bad design & makes the camera more difficult to use as a whole. i wish apple would return to putting user experience first, over “pretty” design.

eta: the damn swiping camera menu right on top of a swiping home bar (which is now hidden, so of course you swipe over it my mistake). why?!

One major oversight of the redesign:

Open the Camera to take a selfie. There is now a short wait before the selfie button becomes available, that is going to annoy so many people who want to immediately go to the front camera.

On my phone, the "switch the lens" circular arrow button, bottom right, appears immediately. There's a small chance this is due to my iPhone11 just not being that fast overall.

I can also long-press on the camera icon and select "selfie" directly. I don't think that saves any time, though.

The Photo/Video switching to other options is too finicky and it's easy to pass over what you wanted to select
Yup. Swiping the navigation bar has a jerky, unnerving motion as it snaps to each option. Snapping to the next option seems desirable, but it needs to be done right.

Liquid Glass Design

Seeing this makes me feel like i have to wipe off the fog to make sure this is not a speaker icon …

Seriously why do apple make changes no one asked for? I have serious questions of the product owner. Hate the redesign. It’s become unusable.

Sadly just had an iPhone SE that upgraded itself to iOS26. The camera controls (photo/video) are now swapped in position relative to the shutter button—which is now really high up from the bottom of the frame. This is awful. It obscures the framed shot more, and kills a decade of muscle memory. And for what? A laggy UI on top? The old camera app was absolutely fine for what it was. This one is painful.
