When I am receiving or sending a text or iMessage all I'm interested in is the content, and I prefer that to be quite straightforward -- you know, just words! -- no silly icons, emojis, memojis, whatever, and I sure as heck don't want or need a fancy background. Just send me the text message addressing whatever the particular situation is.

Can we get ability to freeze apps and multiple users? Thank you

Edit - two separate things
1. Multiple users
2. Ability to freeze an app

Genmoji and backgrounds? Are they kidding with this? Not that I care much about what others think of me but do they try to embaress iPhone users on purpose?

Maybe it’s time to make the switch again. Pixel 10 should be great, anniversary and all.

“AOL and Microsoft have teamed up to bring you the entire Internet” 🤣🤣🤣

My question is what if two people want different background images or colors whom wins?

Not a super cool feature but I’m curious on the programming aspect and how it will be implemented.

Generative Shortcuts is not fluff. Assuming you can tell the phone what it is you want to make a shortcut do/automate and it building it for you is pretty awesome.
Yes, but LLMs are still unreliable for such vibe coding. You’ll have to check that the generated shortcuts actually match your intent. I can see it saving time over having to look up how to implement certain things in a Shortcut, but I don’t see it working very well for people who can’t follow Shortcut “code” in the first place.

Also, if such Shortcut creation would work reliably, it would be trivial for Apple to have Siri do anything that Shortcuts can do as well (just have Siri create a hidden temporary Shortcut on-the-fly and execute it). I don’t quite see that happening.

wow that will make a huge difference and contribution to messages, and given the performance of Genmoji it will be great to see a background related to my conversations of the day before
Maybe it will play-act your recent conversation using Genmoji protagonists. ;)

Sorry I meant them as two separate things. Multiple users, and also separately, the ability to freeze an app.
I was joking. :)

Multi-user won’t ever be coming, because it would impact device sales, and also create headaches for stuff like notifications. From Apple’s point of view, it would require a very substantial implementation and maintenance effort for little to no benefit.

I've been an iPhone/Apple user for about 10 years now (6s, 8 Plus, 13 Pro, 15 Pro).

This is the first time in the last decade that I've seriously considered switching back to Android.

I want to stick with iPhone, but what they show off on Monday better be spectacular...or I'm gonna be one of those people with an Android and a Mac :p

AI has really ****ed Apple sideways. They HAVE to do it because everyone else is and its being sold as the biggest innovation in centuries and shareholders are demanding the growth it promises, but Apple don't really want to do it, clearly as their efforts have been so half-arsed, and its distracting them from fixing/improving actual issues in their software/hardware.
