Looking at the camera and preview icons, looks like they are leaving the flat icon look and trying to go back to 3D icons. I expected Apple to have more attention to detail and make the look consistent all the way through but I guess new leadership must be involved in the UI/UX department. Thoughts?

Yes, the lack of consistency with UI/UX is appalling for a trillion $ company. It's as if they've downsized that whole department to 2 people. They literally have the resources to hire a large pool of the best talent, and could have gotten all of the bugs fixed in 2 weeks - but they've neglected that option.

The UI is mostly still flat design with an exception of skeuomorphism for the glass. The icons seem to represent this.
