Haha. Yes this is really a joke at this point. Furthermore I don’t see the point of these security updates. It’s still a restart needed after downloading, so what’s the difference at this point?
Main point of these tiny updates was to patch stuff in the background without a restart needed.
It’s all nonsense. Is this the longest we’ve ever gone between betas? If not, it sure feels like it!

You have to go to settings/privacy & security - scroll down to background security improvements. The new instal will show as available in there.
Not for me.

After what Apple did to remove CarPlay support for a bunch of folks over the holidays, I'm gonna hold off until the next official beta release to test that out.. Not messing around with no RSR beta tests lol

And do you really think that now they will start using security updates? In the past they already did tests to never use them in the end.
Their update program is horrible. Every time I update my wife’s phone she mentions how stupid it is that it doesn’t just do it on its own with automatic updates turned on.

“Well it does, but really late and only sometimes.”

Only my iPhone has never been updated, and I also have automatic updates activated. I can say that I have them activated for my mother and she is still on ios 18 haha

It’s automatic updates not instantaneous updates. And there’s a reason for that.
This means in the event of a faulty update the device would to skip it and choose the next update with the fix instead. So, instead of a bricked phone leaving you stranded, you’d have a fully functioning phone.

It’s not horrible. It’s by design and is a very common practice in the software industry.

Damn ok Apple team. Whole week without a new beta and only these test updates without any changes…
It’s ok. Keep cooking, but we’re going to expect a nice and polished 26.3 release 😀
