I dare you to put it on your phone.
I have actually considered installing it on my iPhone as well, though I often need access to my bank app, so not sure it would be a good idea to do that, lol. 👍🏻😂. But if that weren’t a concern, I would do that in a heartbeat. 👍🏻

I'm still hoping for that iPhone DeX mode that I've quietly nicknamed 'WorkPlay'. We know a prototype of it is buried deep in iOS18; I just hope its a displayport-wide ability and not something limited to the upcoming 17 line.

I’ve been installing the iOS betas for many years now, but this is my first WWDC as an Apple Watch owner.

Being that the iPhone and Apple Watch pretty much work hand in hand, is it recommended to install watchOS 26 if I’m gonna install iOS 26?

A buddy mentioned that his Apple Watch always used to break when he’d install an iOS beta on his iPhone without installing the watchOS beta on his watch.

I wouldn’t unless there is something you are excited to try.

I'll go first with my backup 14 PM, as soon as working bank apps and Apple Pay is confirmed on that one, it will land on the 16 PM... at least a bit of risk mitigation - but no risk , no fun ;)

I have a friend who installs all of the betas on all of his devices, sometimes he’s run into issues, but doesn’t seem to be too bad, but he is also a developer with technical knowledge, so if he does run into issues, he knows how to restore from a backup and such. 👍🏻

Ah the smell of a major iOS beta 1 in the air. I think my iPhone and Watch will sit this one out. My M2 iPad Pro won’t be so lucky 😀

That sounds like a good idea. 👍🏻. Sadly, I no longer have a backup phone. But I might end up deciding to install a beta at some point on it and try it out, I can always test my banking app on my iPad, and if it’s running fine there, probably will run fine on the iPhone. 👍🏻. I’m already taking some risk, because my iPad is my primary device, but I constantly backup my files and such, so risk is fairly minimal. 👍🏻

Unless it’s a total nothing burger I plan to put it on my phone.
Thinking about it, I can probably test my banking app on my iPad, and if it works there, should work on the iPhone as well. So maybe I will try installing the iOS beta on my iPhone this year if my banking app works and I test a few other things on my iPad first. Most of my files and apps are backed up anyways, so I could likely just roll back to public release if I needed to. 👍🏻

All of your countdowns are wrong because the "real" keynote doesn't start until 30 minutes into the hour, after we have heard about how many lives were saved with Apple Watch, how much money Apple has made for developers, how many stores they have opened or remodeled, etc. :)

👍

I will report back on Swiss UBS, German Sparkasse and Bunq as soon as I can ... what gives me hope is that the last two major betas were not as sensitive as earlier betas regarding banking apps (at least for me), the whole 18 beta- cycle was flawless...
