It will probably be Tuesday but man this is discouraging. I hate taking time off of work for what turns out to be no reason.
Taking time off from work to install a beta...

I don’t know how else it can possibly be done! It’s a time commitment. If it releases tomorrow then I can probably install it next Monday but then we’ll only be a day away from B6, so what’s the point.

Maybe we can hold out hope for a 4PM release lol

I usually do my backups the morning of the expected beta or the night before so there’s no waiting.
This could be done, but then there’s always something from the hours in-between that doesn’t end up being backed up. It only takes 15 or so minutes out of the total process so it’s not the biggest deal in the world to do it right beforehand. While the backup runs, that’s the time I take to seek out and download the IPSW. The 15 minutes to backup pales in comparison to the hour+ that my phone is completely out of commission during the actual installation.

To clear the air. For those performing a full install per ever OS release via itunes [IPSW], it takes close to 1hr+.

If your doing the update OTA, less than 10 mins
I just did a fresh install of iOS 26 during beta 3… and the restore only took 15 minutes max. Maybe the download for the update took too long for you? But yeah I’ve never had it take an hour that’s insane ☠️

Downloads are not the limiting factor, at least on gigabit internet. These days when the IPSWs are ~10GB or so it only takes a couple of minutes to fully download, at the most. It’s the installation that takes time. Not sure why this is so difficult for so many to believe

You either need a new phone or a new internet connection. My phone is out of commission for 10-15 minutes tops during installation

Because we’ve done it and know it doesn’t take anywhere near an hour, dude. Taking time off work to update your phone is ridiculous.
