You take leave just to install a beta? LolIt will probably be Tuesday but man this is discouraging. I hate taking time off of work for what turns out to be no reason.

I think me having COVID is a pretty good excuse, but I'd otherwise definitely be at work. Fun fact, the first day of my current job was on WWDC last year. It was tough being away from the Internet all day!You take leave just to install a beta? Lol

Doesn’t look like it’s coming today. I think they’ve been released on Tuesday’s in the past.Clearly today , and from now then weekly
Seems like i was wrong, happens, but I don’t know if they will now switch to Tuesday’s in generalDoesn’t look like it’s coming today. I think they’ve been released on Tuesday’s in the past.
Time commitment? It takes like 10 mins tops to install.I don’t know how else it can possibly be done! It’s a time commitment. If it releases tomorrow then I can probably install it next Monday but then we’ll only be a day away from B6, so what’s the point.
Maybe we can hold out hope for a 4PM release lol
Patently false. It’s a 1-2 hour affair everytime. The backup you perform before an install by itself takes more than the 10 minutes you claimTime commitment? It takes like 10 mins tops to install.
No it does not. 1-2 hours. L O L.Patently false. It’s a 1-2 hour affair everytime. The backup you perform before an install by itself takes over the 10 minutes you claim
I usually do my backups the morning of the expected beta or the night before so there’s no waiting.Patently false. It’s a 1-2 hour affair everytime. The backup you perform before an install by itself takes more than the 10 minutes you claim
This could be done, but then there’s always something from the hours in-between that doesn’t end up being backed up. It only takes 15 or so minutes out of the total process so it’s not the biggest deal in the world to do it right beforehand. While the backup runs, that’s the time I take to seek out and download the IPSW. The 15 minutes to backup pales in comparison to the hour+ that my phone is completely out of commission during the actual installation.I usually do my backups the morning of the expected beta or the night before so there’s no waiting.
I just did a fresh install of iOS 26 during beta 3… and the restore only took 15 minutes max. Maybe the download for the update took too long for you? But yeah I’ve never had it take an hour that’s insane ☠️To clear the air. For those performing a full install per ever OS release via itunes [IPSW], it takes close to 1hr+.
If your doing the update OTA, less than 10 mins
You either need a new phone or a new internet connection. My phone is out of commission for 10-15 minutes tops during installationThis could be done, but then there’s always something from the hours in-between that doesn’t end up being backed up. Because we’ve done it and know it doesn’t take anywhere near an hour, dude. Taking time off work to update your phone is ridiculous.Downloads are not the limiting factor, at least on gigabit internet. These days when the IPSWs are ~10GB or so it only takes a couple of minutes to fully download, at the most. It’s the installation that takes time. Not sure why this is so difficult for so many to believe
