iOS 27 Beta 5 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I can replicate this as well, and it does it for any app. For me, it puts the icon on an existing home screen with space.
I'm on iOS Public Beta channel. In US, mountain region. Auto updates Off. Still displaying iOS 27 as "up to date". If I change to Developer updates, I do see today's beta 5.
Question: Is there a method to force a recognition of the Public Beta 2, available to others but not me, yet. Restarted, etc. Checked network. Toggled on/off Airplane mode, etc.
I can just change to Developer beta and get (likely) the same build. I just prefer to stay on Public.
So no big deal, I just have downtime this PM to update and let it do its re-indexing.

When you set a timer with Siri, the Siri window now disappears after the timer starts. Which is a welcome change.
Edit: Never mind, that’s only when the phone is locked. You still have to manually hide it when the phone is unlocked.

Public beta and developer betas are almost always *exactly* the same. Usually the first PB is the only one that might slightly different. Waiting for the next PB just means delaying getting all the updates/fixes as soon as they are released.
If you’re still on PB1, just switch to the DB5 since it shows up. Something is wrong with your PB1 if you haven’t seen PB2 yet. You can switch back to public if you really want to, but again, just delays getting the updates.

Just get dev and afterwards switch the DEV switch off and PB switch on. The builds ae exactly the same. Just about WHEN you get them. So that will put you back on PB channel.

I have to say that I really love the new Preview icon. I think it’s one of the most “Apple” looking designs in quite a while. The Safari icon is also pretty refreshing and the revised Settings icon brings back a kind of “depth” that was missing from the original iOS 27 version.

Sort of. The Easter egg has been there in iPadOS since last year, but it only made it to iOS this year.

Thank you for replying.I’m not familiar with the Home Assistant app. I see it listed on the working/not-working thread wiki page, but maybe there is a nuance to how you’re using it that isn’t working/compatible with iOS 27 yet? Perhaps someone is that thread can try to match what you’re doing and troubleshoot.

The setup I use doesn’t even require having the home assistant app installed.

If there wasn’t the overlaying blur in messages, feels weird going from having so many pinned messages to now not having them lol Other than that, this beta is great!

It must’ve been early on in 26 because I don’t remember safari ever having the infamous blur at the top. A lot of other apps did like settings though.
