Ios 27 Broke Face ID

I updated to the first beta build.
Now Face ID is not working even after reset.
Also extended display with mac mini - sidecar does not play well. Mac mini cant see the ipad most of the time.

Mirror ipad thru Mac Mini works though.

This will most likely not help with your situation at all, but it's worth mentioning; Face ID on my old iphone 12 recently started acting up, can't recognize face bla bla. I suspected a couple of things, and felt the most obvious reason had to be that I've been growing a quite large full beard the last year, and thought I'd set up Face ID again. This was also troublesome, it would throw up errors while scanning my face.

Long story short; it turned out that it was a simple matter of dirty glass on the camera. A quick wipe with a damp cloth, and everything was back to normal. I hadn't even succeeded in rescanning with the beard. It's quite impressive how Face ID can look past beards, glasses, hairstyles etc.

Btw, my screen didn't really look dirty at all, but looking more closely, you can often see that some dirt accumulates closer to the edges, and of course, that's where the camera lens is located.

Did you have any 3rd party repairs on your device?

I did not have any repairs. And the camera looks clean to me. Its weird cause when i tried setting up new face id. Its a square box cam and just doing nothing but show myself.
