It seems like Apple is still doing some changes on the Apple Home side of things withApple Intelligence. Yesterday it said my plan (2TB) included 2 cameras, today it shows 1 camera.

I also unchecked one to see if I can switch to another, and now I can't turn any back on. Curious to see what apple does by the time this is supposed to be publicly released.

We went from 5 cameras to 2 yesterday to 1 today for those on the 2TB plan ...
Surprisingly, after reading your post I checked on my phone, even though it says one cameras too, 2 cameras are still enabled.
Yesterday when I checked that it was saying 2, one of the three (I have 3 cameras) had been turned off automatically.

Someone else posted about a reduced camera limit:

Late in the 26.x cycle, Mac/IPSW software updates started to fail during the cellular modem firmware part of the process, resulting in no cell service and instructions to run a hardware diagnosis via app, leading nowhere except to schedule a service appointment.

That could be avoided with a wipe and restore, but at the risk of losing old versions of apps, and just the general hassle involved.

It then became "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" when it happened again during a subsequent release.

I reported it, with logs showing the glitch, at least a couple releases ago.

Good to know that crack software devs at Apple are on their game, and have fixed it…or not, I guess.
So I’m assuming you got a new phone or repair from Apple since it occurred again?

Battery life is improved for sure compared to the last two betas for me.
Yup, 16PM finally seems like normal battery life again. It’s been a long time with bad battery life…hoping this is the start of better things.

The only concern, for me, with this RC is Siri. It’s still exhibiting the problem with commands as it did with Beta 1. I have no idea how Apple expects to fix this before the release next week…I have to be honest, I’ve been surprised how bad it’s been.

Yes, I’m pretty sure I read one or two posts from you. Thanks for the info.

After looking online (after not being able to delete and re-add my esim) I found plenty of people with the same issue. I found that when I run the diagnostics it says “cellular - hardware failure” and there is no modem firmware present in settings>about. These two conditions are what many have experienced which ultimately means baseband hardware failure, where the logic board must be replaced or receive a new phone.

Thankfully I do have apple care+ but my concern is they will flash the phone back to ios26 and it will work again, temporarily.. In which case, back to the apple store I go. If you ask me there’s more than enough data to know its not the beta on my phone causing the issue, but of course I’m at the mercy of the genius.

It's possible, but I don't think there is an actual modem hardware failure. The failed firmware update just leaves it in a state where it can't be detected by the OS, so it believes it has failed.

The signal strength indicator did the worm dance, and no modem firmware version was detected in Settings.

So I’m assuming you got a new phone or repair from Apple since it occurred again?

No, as I said in the other thread, erasing and resetting the phone, and having it download the OTA package and perform the installation that way restored normal function.

Not a big deal as long as you have a device backup handy, and should, since an IPSW Mac update automatically performs a backup before proceeding, at least if there an existing backup already present.

But is time consuming, as all the apps have to be downloaded again, and you're screwed if you held onto an older version, or any version of an app that is no longer available for download. Another gotcha is an app like Signal, where unless you've set up its own backup process, you'll lose the chat history.

At least the cards in the Wallet now only require confirming the CVV or something simple, as opposed to having to redo the entire card adding process like in the past. And, on a newish iPhone with USB 3, restoring the media library from a Mac goes pretty fast.

My iPhone does not sync photos with iCloud after the last update (might have been since beta 8 as well) 111 items in sync queue now. nothing happens
