File this one under I’ll believe it when I see it because they still can’t even do anything with Siri when they’re using other companies backend
They may be planning to do it, but I doubt they’ll be able to pull it off or make it work correctly because up to this point they’ve pretty much shown their incompetent for about two years straight

Now:
Siri, start a timer for 30 minutes and remind me when there are 5 minutes remaining.
Siri creates a timer for 35 minutes.

Soon:
Siri, start a timer for 30 minutes and remind me when there are 5 minutes remaining.
Siri creates a timer for 30 minutes and a reminder for January 1, 1969 00:05.
Why not just set two timers.

May be able to handle multiple commands in a single query?? That would seem a baseline expectation of Siri in iOS 27.
Haha, this has me concerned their own apps won't be MCP enabled for Siri to use them as tools to complete an agentic objective. Even if this is becoming the modern baseline in 2026, we're totally going to have "Hey Siri, make a list of reminders based on this week's plans with John on my mail" be replied with a "I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that." aren't we...

Sure.

Now just let me correct a single word in a text I send. I'm not sure who decided that voice analysis wasn't something they wanted to invest in, but the nonsensical sentences it makes up are irritating.

So this is the improvement for the upcoming revamped Siri? Same dumb replies but now it can manage more than one in a single prompt? Not what I expected.

There’s so much wasted potential for local AI and machine learning on Apple devices (especially on iPad and Mac)…

While I can see that happening, surely that’s not what we’ll see in June. All eyes on WWDC.

In that example, that's exactly what I am trying to do. An LLM should be able to understand my natural language and just figure it out. Right now that doesn't work on Pixel either. Gemini just creates one 30 minute timer.
True, but reminders and timers are two different things. If Siri tried to reinterpret that to mean two timers I'd be annoyed. My point to you was you should have asked for two timers. Current Siri adds them up.

Sorry, I can't create a reminder for "30 minutes and remind me when there are 5 minutes remaining".

Siri is so far behind, I would put the current Siri on par with where Google Assistant was when it first came out. Apple is so far behind, it's embarrassing.
