Does the iPod touch not get the 4.1 update or is 4.1 only for iPhone ?
Thought 4.1 might sort out battery issue on touch.

4.1 hasn't been released to the general public yet.

4.0.1 was released for iPhone users, it changes the way cellular reception bars are displayed and squashes an Exchange bug.

iOS 4.1 has not been released yet, but when it is, it will be available for the iPod touch 2nd and 3rd generations.

iOS 4.0.1 was released yesterday and is only available for the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4.

I would recommend against anyone doing the version 4 upgrade to a 2nd Gen iPod Touch.

The new OS severely impacts overall performance.
