Wow! Seriously, better than I had hoped for. Seems faster than any 3.x.x iOS version...feels like I have a new device again!

I am very stoked! Thanks Apple.:)

He could possibly using the GM version. Other then that, it's not going to be released until probably the 8th of Sept.

    Google equals your friend.

Do not even need to torrent it. Apple signs/verifies it. So easy your grandma could do it.

Telling the truth about performance. It is great!

Apple prob. did not release right away so as to sell some more new iGadgets.

What version did you upgrade from?
Does your battery seem to last longer?

No need to be registered to install "4.1" since it's the GM.

    I'm curious about that also.

Reduced battery life during standby was the other major 4.0x issue.

Had this on my 2G touch since Friday. Have not yet needed to restart in order to keep the iPod working with my car's USB integration (this had become a MAJOR headache for me with 4.0).

In that respect, it is a good upgrade. I have noticed a couple of new podcast playback glitches, but nothing major.
