iPhone ios 4.2.1 + 3g Which Untethered Jailbreak / Unlocking?

Hello,

I have a 3g running 4.2.1, i do not want to upgrade the ios if it is avoidable.

Which untethered jailbreak and unlocking tool should i use? When i look online it seems much information is out of date for this old ios...

If you're using a 4 and older, and dealing with older firmware, redsn0w should be the way to go

Don't worry about 'upgrading' the firmware on a 3G. 4.2.1 is the highest you can go anyways.

Should you wish an iOS7 feel for your iPhone 3g - try whited00r, it is iOS3.1.3 with additional tweaks to feel like iOS7 and is pretty well defined in my opinion!
