iphone dev team themselves say redsn0w 0.9.8b5 is tethered on ALL devices. This why I am trying to find what version/ method to use to jailbreak iphone 3gs old bootrom on 4.3.5.

thought it was untethered sorry 3gs and i4 need the shsh blobs to downgrade the the tethered really isn't bad. and IOS 5 is around the corner. I believe they already have a couple of exploit in mind for it.. of course unless Apple finds the holes.

I have a old bootrom 3gs.. which version of redsnow would I used to jailbreak on 4.3.5?

To make the 3Gs untethered on 4.3.5, you have to run redsn0w from the command line and use the "-o" option to tell redsn0w that its an old bootrom 3Gs.

Thanks for the info. How do you run redsnow from command line in windows? Is there a instructions anywhere online?

Has anyone tried downgrading an iPhone 4 without SHSH blobs to iOS 4.1? IT's still be signed, but I want to confirm it works for 4th Gen iDevices...

Where an earth did you read that? I can assure you it definitely is not still being signed, and so it will be impossible to downgrade without the SHSH blobs.

4.1 is being signed only for the 3GS and 3G not for Iphone 4. No one knows why but it is and is published on many different forums.

Right, basically was on Cydia the other day and found out I did actually have SHSH Blobs for 4.3.3, and downloaded Tiny Umbrella which also says I have them saved.

Problem is now, I try to downgrade using the google tutorials (mostly limra1n), but I keep getting the 1013 error and then my Iphone gets stuck in recovery mode, and I try to exit recovery using Tiny Umbrella but it wont work, also tried to download other things people have said on Google and no joy.

Sorry to bug you again, I searched everywhere on google and nothing works, so come to you lot because I assume others must have had the same problem.

I had that same problem last week.. Download the latest Sn0wbreeze and make a custom 4.3.3 backup and restore from that.

I don't know whether or not this should play a part but I did have a tethered 4.3.5 jailbreak on my iPhone before downgrading? Would that make any difference?

I had that issue and had forgotten to start the TSS server in Tiny Umbrella before relaunching iTunes and then restoring by pointing iTunes to the ipsw for 4.3.3 on my desktop.

Yeah i tried that and get the same problem, however I did do this straight from recovery mode, do you think I should do it from 4.3.5 normally as I would with the other downgrade?

Can you link me to the tutorial you used? As I wasn't told to do anything like that.

I was stuck in the recovery loop and defected back to 4.3.5 then put it in a normal DFU state and restored from the custom IPSW. Try that and then report back.

I just tried it and I ran into error 1600?

Not had much luck, I don't know if im following the right tutorials, are there any on this forum that I can follow that are better?

Ive sorted it now, was looking around and found out I had to use Ireb, took me a while to sort it with lots of problems but I got there, thanks everyone... now I can untether again!

IS THERE UNTETHERED - 4.3.5 Jailbreak - New Bootrom YET???

Hi Everyone, i just got a old 3GS iphone on 4.3.5 iOS with a New bootrom.

Is there a tethered or semi-tethered JB yet? I really don't want to be stuck w/ a tethered JB.

If not, what's the best downgrade option?

Even tho my Iphone's "About" says the phone is on 4.3.5, I checked my SHSH blobs & in TinyUmbrella it says that i have:
iPhone3GS 4.1 (8B117)
iPhone3GS 4.3.3 (8J2)

OR...is there a way to generate a SHSH blob for iOS 5.x...which is my preferred version now...iOS 6 still sounds a little buggy...

THnaks for any responses...

4.3.5 tethered and install semi-tether from cydia.

But i would go to 4.3.3 that is untethered with jailbreakme.com (and has been for the last year)
