I am a HMA subscriber because I live in Europe for my work and I have to get my Netflix. It works great on my MBP, and before I got my iPad 2 I read that people were using the PTPP with success on the device. I get mine, in comes iOS 4.3.x and PPTP stops working on the iPad. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone found a work around yet?

Here is the thread on the HMA site about this issue:

Does your cellular provider require you to pay for VPN access.

In Canada, Rogers / Fido / Bell charges $5-10 / month EXTRA for VPN access to obtain a "routeable" IP address.

bastages.

really? i hope this does not become a standard all over.

It's not that it is a standard.

Public IP's (those that are routeable) are not in a large abundance anymore. The solution was to assign all cell phones with Private, non-routeable IPs that could "look outward", but not have systems like VPN look back inward towards it. The result is VPN doesn't work.

Public IP's are an optional service for many carriers.

I am doing it over WIFI

I can confirm that Hide My ass is the issue with iOS 4.3.x because this works perfectly fine with Overplay.

Too bad

I use PPTP to connect to a VPN I run at home and it works fine. I cant use it abroad tho :(
