There's always going to be new updates but exploits will not always be there unlimited.
Sometimes devs have to make some wait in order for others to benefit from the jb.
Either way people will cry.

Lol, looks like the untethered jailbreak keeps getting delayed. They should just wait until iOS 5. Apple seems to be persistent with these updates now.

very true..they should just wait for the next major iOS release by apple for the untethered jb and unlock like they did with iOS4 release. that way they can save their exploits for longer..
i dnt mind waiting for the updates. only some people who are stuck on older versions and latest updates would be getting restless..

oh by d way did u guys hear that apple are testing to remove the home button completely for the next ipad/iphone release later this yr..its jst a speculation though...

I can see it now: Steve: "We've removed the home button on the iPad and iPhone and are relying instead on multitouch gestures to return to the home screen"
Reporter: "But Android did that a year ago"
Wait for it....
Steve: 'But we did it better!".

yawn. What's the point of getting rid of the home button if they're not going to increase the screen size? Now we'll have even more dead space around the screen. I guess that's so you can hold onto the phone with one hand while your fumble-**** around gesturing to get to the home screen.

I disagreed, Wasting a exploit with such a imminent release is a bad idea.

it also make sense to delay the unlock since currently you cannot upgrade without updating the baseband, they need to overcome the baseband check first.

Musclenerd has stated on his twitter more than once that there is no baseband check. You can upgrade an iphone 4 to 4.2.1 and retain an older baseband including 1.59 by using tiny umbrella and "update" instead of "restore". It allows you to kick it out of recovery.

I think that also disproves the baseband check theory.

And comex has stated there is a baseband check and that's why tu can't kick you out of recovery when going to 4.2.1.

I don't know who the hell to believe.

MN himself was talking about it just not long ago on the IRC.... haven't seen those post you mentioned, they have stated that they are trying to overcome the BB check.

There are multiple threads that say you can preserve the baseband on iphone 4 going to 4.2.1 with TU and update instead of Restore. Notcom has also confirmed it. Maybe whatever apple introduced does not work with update.

Here is one.

# @n00neimp0rtant we released a "minimal+unofficial" bundle for 3GS to get to 4.2.1, don't think we ever released one for i4 though 9:14 PM Dec 18th, 2010 via web in reply to n00neimp0rtant

# @n00neimp0rtant there isn't a BB check in 4.2.1 (whoever started that theory was wrong) 7:19 PM Dec 18th, 2010 via web in reply to n00neimp0rtant

# @dar11111 you definitely can...4.2.1 JB is already untethered for iPhone3G, old-bootrom 3GS, old-bootrom ipt2g (use redsn0w or PwnageTool) 7:17 PM Dec 18th, 2010 via web in reply to dar11111

# @n00neimp0rtant that was with 01.59 bb (but had to modify ultrasn0w for 4.2.1, which was the point of that screencap) 6:53 PM Dec 18th, 2010 via web in reply to n00neimp0rtant

# @ipaxy remember, even if you restore without hashes (using an iTunes alternative), you won't be able to boot untethered without them 6:37 PM Dec 18th, 2010 via web in reply to ipaxy
