iOS 4.5.1 - dock and battery problems

(Apologies if this has already been discussed.)

Since the last iOS update my Philips dual dock stopped working: I get a pop up message on the iPhone (4S) saying 'accessory not supported'. Is there a fix?

Also, the iPhone's battery life decreased dramatically after the update (I'd say it lasts about a third less). Any help would be much appreciated.

There's no 4.5.1. Could you perhaps be referring to iOS 5.1.1?
