I have never been able to connect to an Ad Hoc network created via my Macbook Air since the upgrade to iOS 4. I don't share internet, I just need the iPhone on the same network so I can use the Keynote App for presentations.

The phone pretends to connect, then the Wi-Fi bars never appear.

Does anyone know why this is the case?

on the computer it doesnt show bars. it shows a little monitor where the bars should be. on the phone it wont connect and show bars but it is connected. this happens to me when i use handy light. i dont know if you can use ad-hok for presentations

EDIT: i never used Ad-Hok before i got an ip4 which came with ios4 so i dont know if ios3 allowed this.

It did work with iOS 3. I have a 2g iPhone lying around and have used it for that, but it would be easier to use my iPhone 4 and not need the other one.

Putting it in Airplane mode worked after a few minutes...thanks!
