I think I know what OP meant, and for me it was actually an annoyance to have the menu scroll slowly sometimes

Oh I see what the OP is saying. It scrolls fast and it scrolls slow but at the slow scrolling it used to have the bouncing effect after the page stops. I looked at my 3.1.3 3GS and its there but not on my IP4.

I notice a difference here, in fact, it was the first difference I noticed. I do prefer this way as when flicking through homescreens it feels less 'wooden' than in 3.x. It's kinda hard to describe but it feels a bit more bouncy.

I notice the difference too when compared to my iPod touch. I actual like the newer scroll better. I used to think the slow scrolling annoying.

I see the difference in your vid, but I like the new scrolling animation better.

It beats androids laggy scrolling any day hands down

But, as demonstrated in the vid, you could scroll fast if you wanted to, YOU had the choice.

A fair position to have, which I obviously don't share. By Android-like I meant that you are now locked to a fast scroll, not anything to do with Android's laggy Java UIs.

I believe the sped up scrolling was implemented to give the user the impression of that "snappy" feeling

Possibly, which to some of us feels rushed instead, when we don't want to be.

ah yes, it has been changed. but comparing it to android like is terrible. android has the worst feeling scrolling ever

Personally I prefer the new way. I don't see much reason to watch the screen slowly move from one page to the next, and most of the time when that happened it was because I didn't move my finger fast enough.

To each his own, I guess.
