So who here with the 3G or 3G's is going to be a typical Apple obsessed nut job and try to download IOS 4 on your phone the minute it's avaliable? Going to be funny when Apple gets overloaded with People updating the 3G and 3G's and you get half way through the process until the site goes down without completing the update and now youre phone is in a non working state until Apple get things corrected, lol... I'm holding off on IOS 4 for tomorrow because it will just cause problems with way to many nut jobs trying to get it the second it's avaliable.. Holding off for a week then I will get it. Can you hold off? do you have the will power??? LOL

I already have the GM on mine so im basically already running it but im gonna update to the legit one. However it most likely will be over crowded so ill see and hold off for a day or two. :apple:

Even more amazing considering many of the people clamoring to download it are installing it on a phone they are replacing by the end of the week....

I'll be at work monday so no choice but to download it after. The traffic on servers should have died down after 5pm pst hopefully. Plus, apple's download servers are on akamai

Yea I have GM and will wait till late or on Tuesday and if the build number changes, upgrade then.

Yea in the past the download wasn't the trouble. It was activating again once you had rebooted with the new firmware that was the issue, so you were left with a non working phone till itunes could contact ATT to activate it.

On these things Apple is usually pretty well prepared, it's ATT that always seems to be the bottleneck.

How can you mess it up halfway through? Once its downloaded all the data is stored locally....nothing can be messed up by other people except a slow download.

I have a 3G. I think I can wait seeing as the only thing I'm really looking forward to on the 3G is folders. Besides, I'm getting my iPhone 4 3 days later ;).

Plus, yeah, I remember when my roommate tried to update the day some update came out (I think it was an earlier one, 2.something?) and it bricked his phone for a while (he has a PC, I think Apple doesn't support PC itunes as well either). I remember being happy that I had put it off (no, i don't want to wait for you to do all that right now, I'll do it later. I'm kinda a slacker when it comes to updating software honestly).

Hold off on it (at least for an hour or two) until I see how the community reacts.

But I have the GM as well, so I'm not in a big rush.

I have the GM but wont update until Wednesday night thought. I dont have it installed, just the IPSW. Im not ready to lose my JB...

Hopefully it'll activate for me in Canada then ;)

Actually it's a good way to test how well your apps will respond to the new OS. I'll remove or clean up whatever has a problem, so I can restore to the new iPhone 4.

I'm just saying with tons of people trying to update IOS4 it could messy up some peoples days. When the Iphone seizes up on them, would love to see the look on someones face if it happend to them, LOL

How? By failing on the reactivation after the reboot with new firmware.

It won't, the firmware saves to your computer before it does anything with your iPhone.

Just be sure to check the forums before you update if you have to have a usable phone :)
Go back and read the threads from the os 2.0 release day.

3.0 update was indeed about 5pm-6pm GMT, i downloaded and installed the second it was available with absolutely no problem! will be doing the same this year!
