My wife has the gm on her 3GS. Before adding the update on Tuesday should i restore her phone?

About iOS 4;

can we say that we are a 100% sure wallpaper on home screen is NOT going to be available on 3G? Really i just want every feature of iOS4 except multitasking. I mean those little, unstated features and home screen wallpaper.

I read in a blog that 3G may have the wallpaper feature. What do you guys say?

Wasn't aware it came out tomorrow. But no, I'll just keep this jailbroken at 3.1.3 and sell like that.

Will have iPhone 4 on thurs.

If not then yes I'd be upgrading tomorrow despite the traffic. Just would do late night like 11PM - 12AM before I sleep.

I only have a 3G and will not be upgrading to iOS 4 due to reports of performance issues. Besides, I'll have an iPhone 4 on Thursday. :)

Well i want many of iOS4 features and i also am a 3G user. Things i especially want are folders, home screen wallpaper and some small unmentioned features. On the other hand i feel a little worried it might get slower or the battery may get worse. I bought my 3G in December '08 and i barely end up with some battery left at the end of the day. For example with 3.1.3 it takes almost more than three seconds to launch settings.

I don't want it to get slower but i want the features.

About the iPhone 4, can't afford it.:(:(

To answer your question, no I won't be updating. I'm one of the lucky ones to get the iphone 4 on Thursday, so I figure I'll make it a completely new experience (new phone, new software). My question is, after I activate my new phone, will I be able to update to ios4 on my 3G. Plan on using it as an ipod touch essentially for my car.

I'll be upgrading later in the day. (Though I have a i3G)

....Along with the probable Xcode 4 releasing tomorrow. (Prediction)

Going to be funny when Apple gets overloaded with People updating the 3G and 3G's and you get half way through the process until the site goes down without completing the update and now youre phone is in a non working state until Apple get things corrected, lol
A) This is not technically possible. Your phone is not touched until the firmware download is completed. If it bombs in the middle of a download (this has NEVER happened to me on release day for any prior release btw.), then your phone just won't update because the firmware won't be there to update it.

B) Why would it be funny? Would it be funny if I ran over your phone with my Titan, and then put it in reverse, and did it again?

Sorry, but saying it would be funny just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. :D

I certainly hope that the GM we are all running is NOT the final version which will be released tomorrow, because it has some bugs. For one, typing posts on forums such as this one has that lag thing, like it did on 2.1. Not pleasant at all.

I have GM on my 3G and wallpaper IS NOT AVAILABLE. Only feature that seems worth anything to cause an upgrade is folders. On the other hand, speed seems about the same, so no reason not to upgrade.

It is NOT a GM " candidate".

It is the GM seed. Nowhere on the dev site does Apple refer to this build as a "candidate".

The developer portal does not say "GM Candidate". It says "GM seed". Gold Master = the same software that's being shipped.

Everyone that already has the 4.0 GM Seed installed is not going to need to update.

My enterprise dev portal says it's a candidate. :/

God shutup no one cares why can't you let people be happy for what the have?

Becuase maybe they're not seeing what I'm seeing?
