This might come at just the right time. I am considering jumping ship for a galaxy nexus phone. The iphone is just becoming too dated for me. BUUUUT if the jailbreak comes and works better than the 5.0.1 one did I may be able to stay.

I did that for 2 weeks but I ended up coming back to my jailbroken 4S.

I've been off and on with my Verizon GNex and it is a horrible phone. The antennas are very bad, mic drops out after a 15 - 20 mins conversation, and apparently there is screen burn (not ghosting) in a short period of time.

The phone is great for customizing with different ROMS and Kernels but using the phone as a phone, not so great.

Just my two cents.

I always had a bad wifi signal compared to my 4S.

I tried the different radios from 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 with no improvement. I tried different ROMs and still no luck.

The Verizon guys warned me about Samsung phones and their antennas but I didn't believe them. Doh!

Supposedly 4.0.5 will be out which fixes a lot of things. Speaking with my Verizon rep, Google isn't very happy with how this phone was delivered and supported. So I guess we'll see if Verizon ever gets another Nexus.

Verizon made a comment yesterday they want to push Windows phones as much as they push Android phones. That comment is interesting because they don't have any LTE Windows phone available and I don't see too many Android or iOS users jumping on that bandwagon.

Again, just my opinion on these topics.

I haven't tried the GNex but I do have a Nexus S 4G collecting dust. IMO, Samsung phones are horrible, I've yet to have a decent one and I'll never buy another again after being burned by 3 in a row.

The NS4G was what I was using before I decided to give the IP4S a try and that thing was just plain crap, the worst cell radio I've ever used and I could barely get wifi to hold and to me, those are 2 VERY important things you need to have work to be able to have your phone usable as a PHONE, LOL.

I have absolutely no loyalty to any brand, I just want a device that works well and keeps my interest, so far my jailbroken 4S has held my interest longer than any phone I've owned and I've yet to have an issue with cell or wifi reception and I've actually stayed with this thing for 6 months which is 3 months longer than I normally have a phone active for ;) Damn, I hate having expensive hobbies :D

The 5.01 JB has worked fine for me so far but I wouldn't mind having one released for 5.1 so I can "spring clean" the living crap out of this phone and start fresh with a clean install. Since I'm new to IOS I've experimented the hell out of this phone so I'm sure I have a lot of residual junk that needs to go but I'm glad I did experiment and play around because now I know exactly how I want my phone customized to my personal needs.

I actually enjoyed using my GNex but I just missed my jailbroken 4S too much

And god yes I can't wait to do a restore and start fresh!

I just got done throwing a fresh stock virgin ICS 4.04 ROM on my NS4G so I'm thinking of rooting it and swapping over to that phone to see if there's been any radio improvements but I'm not too optimistic, LOL. At worst case, I waste a couple hours of my life before I switch back to my 4S :D Depends on how bored I am today.

how long do u ugys think? my 5.0.1 4s is a tad glitchy and i wanna start fresh with stuff i dont need

I would guesstimate anywhere between 1-2 months to be on the safe side. They have nearly all the exploits, just need to prepare/update the tool.

@djinn i also had a Gnex and it sucked, GF has a dX2 and always had 2-3 bars than i did... i took it back and picked up a razr and much improvment, love the gorilla glass... Just picked up a iphone 4s so now she (GF) gets the razr..

looking for forward to JB iphone all over again, its been since 3GSsince i had one..

Good news! Not that I haven't gone without a jailbreak(Still on untethered 5.0.1), but I do want the photostream individual delete function on 5.1.

Yeah Im dying to do a fresh restore too. I think a couple of tweaks I had installed left behind some gremlins slowing my phone up.

I'm hoping we see a 5.1 JB within the next couple of weeks.
