iOS 5 Backups

So I have learned you can backup your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch wirelessly but the question I have with this is does it also save app saved state such as with backing up with iTunes on a mac or PC?

So in buying a new iPhone I can sign in and it will take my last wireless backup that I have made and bring all my apps back along with the saved games and progress I have made within the app?

I think whatever data you have regarding everything on your phone, iCloud will backup everything to your account.
