I'm trying to install beta 2 on my GSM iPhone 4 but when I go to restore my phone, iTunes gives me error code 3914. I have downloaded and installed iTunes 10.5 beta 2. Any help would be appreciated.

do you have tinyumbrella installed? if so, go to settings and uncheck remove host or something similar...forgot exact words. most likely your computer can't talk to apple servers.

No, tinyumbrella isn't installed but you saying that made me take a look at the host file on my system and that fixed it. Thank you for the help.

Dear OP,

I had the same problem. The Error means that apple cannot contact the authentication server. My fix? I simply rebooted my PC a couple of times, then it suddenly went past the point where it gave me the error.

Hope this is going to help you out
