I apologize if I'm missing something, but didn't you just re-affirm what I said? It's not guaranteed even though some product launches and whatnot are on certain timelines.

True, but based on your non-answer it seemed like you weren't aware of previous iOS beta release timetables, which were predictable to a degree. My apologies if that wasn't the case.

Ah, no I get what you mean :) I know about the typical timetable for these things, for sure. I just don't like these kind of "prediction" or "omg I heard from a friend" threads about when things will be released. Speculation is one thing, but I feel like it should be only when the speculation can lead to new ideas. Otherwise, what's the point?

I'm also grumpy.

it will rain again, it will be sunny again and in some parts it will snow again, usually on days that end in a "y"

stay tuned

Are you that desperate for an update?

YES. I would like to see my battery last as long as it did before and hopefully be less hot when charging and using bluetooth. Thanks
-and yes i restored from new.

I have os 4.3.3 and all the features of ios5 (minus the notification center) if not more and it all works properly. I tried the ios5 beta and I'm in NO rush to go back to it.

You do know you're not supposed to use the betas on your primary phone, right? A beta to Apple is a beta in the traditional sense, feature complete (at least as far as the API goes) but NOT ready for use by the general public.

I blame Google & Gmail in particular for getting people comfortable with using "beta" software when just about everyone that posts to this forum should not be using a beta release. The real developers here would respect the NDA as they would not want to risk their applications being pulled from the store due to them breaking the NDA.

You done with that soapbox? I need to use it to get something off the top shelf.

Even though a beta today is totally different than it was 5 years ago. For that very reason. They know damn well theyre going to be widely used so they make them good enough for regular use if you choose to do so.

They spell it out to you to NOT use it on your primary phone as it is not guaranteed to work, a beta today is no different to what it was 5 years ago, it is just that people are more comfortable with them as companies like Google have misused the term beta.

So apple recommends not using it on a regular use device, so what? That mean people aren't allowed to be eager for the next update? Not really seeing the issue here.

At the end of the day as a small developer I cannot afford to purchase a test device so I have to test on my primary device. I believe a beta will come out. Apple are consistent at giving betas every 2 weeks

Of course. They have to say that. There's no real beta support other than other users on dev forums, etc.

This really is pointless. You seem to be "Mr Beta" and you know what they say about arguing on the Internet...

Doubt it comes today. I expect we would have seen it already. In years past, I think betas came out midday eastern time. iOS 4.0 B2 came out at 11:40am eastern last year.

Given beta 1 dropped during WWDC and a lot of engineers were there for the week, it's possible beta 2 might take an extra week.

I agree- some non-snarky answers from people about upgrades to the beta would be nice...

And regarding what they say about arguing on the internet, isn't it "Arguing on the internet makes your mother a whore..." ? Did I get that right? :)

I would tell you but i signed a NDA so I can't ;)
