iOS 5 Beta 2 Upgrade Help

Feeling like I could catch some flak for asking this on the forum but I'm trying to confirm.. If I upgrade my iPhone 4 (GSM) w/o UDID and no JB to iOS5b2 will there still be no carrier signal or was that just in iOS 5 Beta 1?

Jump on eBay and get your UDID registered for like $3.

It won't let you upgrade if it isn't registered.

Just to reiterate - you cannot upgrade to 5.0 unless you have a registered UDID on a developer account.
