On the iPhone I can see why it was called the iPod App since it included Music, Movie, TV Shows, Audio and Video Podcast.
On the iPod touch I can see why they wouldn't want to call it the iPod App (it would make no sense).
But the iPad, I didn't understand why it was called the iPod app if it only included Music and Audio Podcast. Movies, TV Shows and Video Podcast were in a separate videos app, so I am glad that Apple is not unifying the App across their devices.
I think it would make more sense to put music under itunes app, just like the desktop version, And videos and photos should be under a "libary" app containing photos, videos, and docs seperated by type.
Why is that better? Not trying to be an a**, just wondering. I see most people complaining about that, and IMO it was better as one app. One less thing to clutter my homescreen

I just never liked having several distinct categories of media lumped into one app. Understand that I came from the iPod touch to the iPhone, so maybe that's part of it.
