Do you have to use xcode and set your phone as "use for development"? I am trying to install ios 5 on my iphone 4 and whenever it tries to install it says there was an error.

Just signed up to be a developer two days ago for ios 5

No, you don't need Xcode. Just download the beta, install iTunes 5 and install iOS 5 beta 1 by clicking on the Restore button by pressing the Alt key simultaneously. You will be prompted to select a file to upload. Select the beta you just downloaded and you are good to go. Of course you need to register your devices UDID before installation. You can do that in the developer portal.

I've been using the iOS 5 Beta for about four days now and, although it does have its bugs, it is stable enough for daily use. I have experienced a couple of crashes and some things in various apps don't work quite right, but overall, nothing that bad. Overall, this Beta 1 seems to be quite a bit more stable than previous Beta 1's. It's worked fine for me.

Weather App Notification

Hi all, I'm running the beta on my iPhone and when I try and use the weather app notification, I only get the option to turn the notification center on or off. There's no banner option etc. as per the other notifications. Also, anyone know when iCloud for iTunes will be available - is it upon official release of ios5? Likewise the Newsstand seems to be inactive - i.e. - can't download from the store and the relevant apps don't sit within it.

Thanks
