iOS 5 GM Unlock Help?

Hi all (am new to macrumors) and i needed help on upgrading my iPhone 3GS to the iOS 5gm. Basically we unlocked the phone via apple (legitimately) for something like 10 pounds. I am worried that if i update to the gm, will it affect the unlock AT all?

from what i know, no...so i think your good (not really sure though),

but woah! does apple really unlock your phone for 10 pounds?! will they do it in the US as well? for like 20 bucks?
 
Sorry mate i put Apple instead of 02. No they don't in the uk, a network company called 'O2' do though, i just don't want to update to the GM and it mess it all up...

Yep, a phone unlocked by O2 will have no problems as it's registered with Apple as an unlocked phone.

I've moved the thread to the iPhone section 🙂
