Hey Guys,

Just wondering, is there a way to disable notifications from turning on the phone's screen when it is on standby?

I am also interested in this. I want to be able to see my new emails in my lock screen but I don't want the screen to turn on everytime.

The use case is pretty simple. My phone is in the bedroom at night and I don't want the screen to turn on every 30 minutes. But, I like the idea to just press the lock button when I wake up to see the notifications in the lock screen.

I've seen a number of threads about this and the consensus was that there is no way to do this.

Can you not set the notification type to "none"?

You can but then you won't get any notifications appearing on your lock screen when you decide to check it, which is what I'm assuming the desire is here. Could be wrong though.

But they will all show as banners as soon as you unlock the phone won't they?

If you set the notification type to "none", I don't know that they will. To achieve what you're stating, I think you'd just set "View in Lock Screen" to off.

Not sure I'm following here. I've got my notifications set to banners and the screen does NOT come on when an email comes in.

I figured it out. Hold down the top power button until the red swipe appears. Swipe and thats it! You're screen wont turn on for anything! If that doesnt work, try getting a flip phone.
