Yes, but only for the old bootrom 3Gs. Everything else is still a tethered jailbreak.

Let's think about this. Do you think if they had announced a date, something they have NEVER done (just imagine the whining if they missed the date - the whining is bad enough as is), that they'd keep it a secret until someone starts a thread on MR asking about it? It'd be a major thread at the top of MR.

We've had longer waits for jailbreaks before. If you really need it, jailbreak with the tethered jailbreak and then download the Semitether hack from Cydia. It lets you at least work with a phone that was booted without the tether instead of crashing everything. That being said, I believe I read something that said someone on the dev team discovered an exploit yesterday, but no promises on a release still.

Correct--> NO JB for 4S and ipad2. HOWEVER MuscleNerd for the exploit for it and was able to Jailbreak Untethered both the 4S and ipad 2. AND of course the follow up statement was "Dont expect a JB release any time soon"!

With 5.0.1 coming out in a few weeks dont expect it any time before that!

I understand the about the jailbreak for 4s only being tethered right now, i was referring to the semi tethered app, i read mostly where it referenced 4 only but saw a couple places today that said 4s


--currently running a jailbroke 4 and have a 4s sitting in the box.

I only think the tethered version just came out... Though I read it only can be on baseband 1.59.00. I am trying to buy one w/ 4.11.08 but I read I can't unlock w/ that nor can I downgrade it. Ridiculous. UGH IDK WHAT TO DO!
