IOS 5 update erased all my apps" content

    A Mac tech was helping me with my IPad 2 and we had to do a retore (I have backed up material on IPad previously). He said we needed to do an update as well. The update erased any material I had saved on apps like Noteshelf, Msecure, Alarm clocks etc. Yes, every single one. All the material that I had backed up was gone. Has this happend to others?

    if you backed up before you did the restore/update then simply restore from the backup and you're content will be returned.

    In iTunes, when you hit "restore" it gives you the option to go to a previous backup or do a total restore to "out of the box" with no personal data. This happens when you update the iOS, too - like a new device. After you update, it should ask you if you want to restore your data. If it didn't, just do as the previous poster said - pick a recent backup. It won't change your new operating system update.
