Mine was like that before. I think it appears when you first use it.

On my 4S it's grayed out and can't be used ( never was ) even after updating to 6.1 .
On the other hand , on the 5 it's like on the screen shot I posted and is functional even if I haven't subscribed to that option with Orange France . I just had a look to see if my MBP found a signal or not .

Mine has been there since iOS 6. It's nothing new.

I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but on the lock screen, the glowing line between the music controls and the volume slider actually shifts based on the movement of the phone.

People have noticed this effect with the circular volume knobs 'shimmering' since iOS 6 was released, but with 6.1, Apple has implemented a similar effect with the glowing line subtly shifting left and right when you tilt the phone.

Neat.

Just checked. You're right. It's so subtle you barely notice it. What on earth?

I would of never seen both the shimmering knobs and that line your talking about if you never mentioned it. Wow interesting

iPod touch 5th Gen feels smoother on 6.1 (especially on maps, much less lag)

Also someone mentioned the scrolling (on safari) feeling different. It does actually feel more bouncy.

This seems to have fixed my wifi issue at home. Before my wifi would randomly drop and come back again and it would drive me nuts, but since the update, it seemed to have helped that issue.

WiFi is faster for sure with 6.1.

I now get 66mbps download when before I got 45mbps. Upload speed remains the same, 25mbps.

Disappoint that they didn't add LTE support for Sweden when it was the first country in the world to deploy an LTE nation wide network.

I think this was unique to me, but I had issues with cellular disconnecting on my iPad 4. That seems to have disappeared.

Safari has changed and not just because its more zippy. The double tap to return to the top of the webpage no longer works.

I thought you only need a single tap on the status bar to get to the top of the webpage?

Putting the duration of the song under the song name looks counter-intuitive. There's less information than the old music app on iOS 5.1.1 now. Not to mention ugly....

Is it me or apps updates only download the delta instead of the whole app? I just updated a 100mb game and download tool only a few seconds.

Apple should've made the lockscreen music controls permanent whenever music is playing. Double-tapping the home button just to make it appear is so counter-intuitive...

Is the App Store and the Music app smoother and lag-free than 6.0.1? These 2 redesigned apps seem to be quite buggy in 6.0.1...

If you do that, you could tap it if its in your pocket...

Why? Why would they do this? How is getting rid of the clock (or making it tiny) a good thing?
In the car, while trying to keep my eyes on the road, I'm constantly pressing play/pause when I meant to change songs or vice-versa. Making the music controls as far apart as possible is going to do wonders for me.

I actually like the new layout/look.

Same here. I'm incredibly happy about that! :)

They fixed the app store stutter when sometimes your scrolling thru a list of apps and it would stutter. Doesnt happen on my i5 anymore. Seems to me the app store loads 1-300 top apps alot quicker now as well.

The App Store stutter is still there on my iPad 3, scrolling through the "Top" lists.

And, though its been there since 6.0 , I hadn't seen anyone notice this: you can swipe/pinch folders closed on the homescreen (ie, you don't have to tap/press home button). That one was kind of cool :)

I've read the other comments about this - are you sure it's not just that you're catching outside the folder when pinching/swiping? I'm pinching for my life on my iPad and it doesn't close the folder. Tapping outside or starting a pinch/swipe from outside the folder does close it.

I am not going through all the pages. But notifications still don't give out sound for me. I have had the phone troubleshooted at the apple store before. They have even swapped the phone out for me. One of the last times i went back, they said that they were getting alot of walk in complaints about notifications either not coming in or not making sounds. They said the standard line about 6.1 will fix all of that. But nothing, i am hoping that once my phone is jailbroken, i can try to download some kind of ipush type program that may fix my notification problems.

I've only really noticed lack of push notification sound on Facebook, but that's been around for ages. I haven't personally noticed it on other apps I use but I don't have my ringer switched on enough to notice really. What apps are you getting that happen with?

So subtle that even though I knew it was doing it, my mind still was convinced it wasn't doing anything because it looked so natural lol

What game was it? I've seen a post on here a while back about delta updates, but I think it was an apple official app that downloaded quicker than they'd expect for it's size. I'd like to get that game and give it a go!

Also someone mentioned the lock screen time when music controls are displayed... Is that really an big issue!? If your device is close enough to you for you to change track and read the song details, surely reading the time on the status bar isn't an issue??

It was Alien Zone - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/alien-zone/id585479179?mt=8

133 Mb and took about 4-5 seconds to download. I have a 50mbps/50mbps internet link but it's not fast enough to download 133Mb that fast.

Correct me if I'm wrong but with this new way of moving the clock, isn't the song information larger and easier to read now?

I know prior to this update, when trying to look at the name and or artist of a song it was hard to see sometime because the font size was so small. By moving the clock it allows the font to be bigger and easier to read.
