That might be so. In that case, an update would be out for everyone by this monday latest, since on monday allot of dev units could potential get bricked otherwise. We will see.

Not bricked, it just means if they wish to use it straight away again they'll have to downgrade until the next Beta becomes available.

It's quite simple. Download the IPSW package from somewhere, connect your phone to a computer, start iTunes, click your phone info pane, shift-click update, choose the 6.0.2 IPSW, click ok, lean back, drink a coffee, and relax. Once it's "updated" back to 6.0.2, your phone is like just 5 minutes ago, just with the elder OS.

I had 6.1 on my iP5 just 5 minutes ago and did this. Works perfectly.
I have a developer account, and we have released something on it, just, we're pretty close to the 28th, not wanting to run risks.

You my friend are a life saver (dramatic I know!). Didn't realise you could update back to a stable release from a beta. Going to do this when I back home from work! :)

Kind of like how Apple would never release an updated 4th generation iPad only 7 months after the 3rd generation?

Or that OS X Mountain Lion wouldn't be announced via the media without a keynote only 7 months after Lion was released?

While I agree that the past can be a good indicator of how they might operate this time around, it in no way is a guarantee. It is clear that there is significant pressure for Apple to release a mobile OS that moves ahead in meaningful ways as competitors catch up and surpass them in this area.

When backed into to a corner, it isn't surprising to see entities operate outside of "normal".

We'll see.

If your points are based on the fantasy that Apple is backed into a corner, then you have no point at all.

Left out the critical point that you cannot restore from iCloud backup if you revert to older OS. Working phone? Yes. All data and settings? Nope.

The most interesting part of 6.1 is the prospect of a jailbreak, so for that reason I hope it comes sooner rather than later so I can use Auxo.

Weekend Release?

I skimmed through, sorry if already asked. Is it in iOS beta history to release on a weekend?

Ive been checking for update for the last 10 mins i think there will be no update today or maybe they changed the time they release their updates who knows

Might as well forget about it coming over the weekend now...Just wait for Monday.

Yea ur probably right, the dilemma now is that most devs will probably downgrade if no update is available by the end of the day

Yup, and what's the big deal about that anyways? So they are forced to take a few days off of developing? My wii reminds me to get up and move around some every so often. Maybe apple is doing the same?;)

Difference is developing is a business and livelihood to a lot of people.
