That might be so. In that case, an update would be out for everyone by this monday latest, since on monday allot of dev units could potential get bricked otherwise. We will see.
It's quite simple. Download the IPSW package from somewhere, connect your phone to a computer, start iTunes, click your phone info pane, shift-click update, choose the 6.0.2 IPSW, click ok, lean back, drink a coffee, and relax. Once it's "updated" back to 6.0.2, your phone is like just 5 minutes ago, just with the elder OS.
I had 6.1 on my iP5 just 5 minutes ago and did this. Works perfectly.
I have a developer account, and we have released something on it, just, we're pretty close to the 28th, not wanting to run risks.
Nope. I did this as well on my iPhone 5 and iPad mini. Back up just in case.
Kind of like how Apple would never release an updated 4th generation iPad only 7 months after the 3rd generation?
Or that OS X Mountain Lion wouldn't be announced via the media without a keynote only 7 months after Lion was released?
While I agree that the past can be a good indicator of how they might operate this time around, it in no way is a guarantee. It is clear that there is significant pressure for Apple to release a mobile OS that moves ahead in meaningful ways as competitors catch up and surpass them in this area.
When backed into to a corner, it isn't surprising to see entities operate outside of "normal".
We'll see.

You won't loose your data if you update instead of restoring.
Expired Betas do not brick devices.
You just cannot use it until you update to either the next beta or GM.
Well thats pretttty darn close to bricking it. It would be rendered as useful as a brick.....
You can just downgrade to the last full release or update though, so not bricked.
I know, just seems a tad counter-productive since developers should be testing for the latest release.
I skimmed through, sorry if already asked. Is it in iOS beta history to release on a weekend?
Might as well forget about it coming over the weekend now...Just wait for Monday.
I did, all the messages went away. So I went back to beta and will not roll back unless I really have to..
Yea ur probably right, the dilemma now is that most devs will probably downgrade if no update is available by the end of the day
Yup, and what's the big deal about that anyways? So they are forced to take a few days off of developing? My wii reminds me to get up and move around some every so often. Maybe apple is doing the same?![]()
