I made the mistake of updating my iPhone 5 to 6.1 via OTA which I guess doesn't retain the shsh blobs. What can I do to make sure they are saved? Force restore with 6.1?

1. Make a full backup on iTunes.
2. Perform a restore on iTunes.
3. When phone reconnects to iTunes after restore, use the backup you just made.
4. Use redsn0w or TU to backup your blobs.
5. Profit 😀

Just restore using itunes and you can use either redsnow or tinyumbrella to save your blobs.
