Is it in any way possible to have iOS 6 and jailbroken (even tethered) with my 4S?
considering that iOS 6 has yet to be released to the public. no.
That's not entirely true.
I haven't tried this myself and it says it's only for A4 devices or lower anyway.
Ok so semi-related question.
Why can't A5/A5X be tethered jailbroken? What could possibly not allow them to, and why isn't there a method yet?
I think it's hardware related and the exploits they use for the older devices don't work on the A5 chip but I don't know more than that.
I doubt they'll release anything for betas anymore because something went wrong (I forgot what) and they got upset when they released the iOS 6 jailbreak which was meant for developers only.
A5 devices are not succeptable to the Limera1n exploit, which is required to jailbreak iOS6
If I remember correctly, I think it was because non-devs without access were pirating the beta ipsw's via bitorrent sites and such, so they could run the jb.
