Same thing happened to me. I only saw "the grid". Then after about 5 seconds the maps started showing up. I'm on a Wifi with a 100Mbit connection though.
On wifi here at work and nothing.

WiFi or 4G model? Though even the cellular version should have baseband signing to allow for downgrades. But there could be a difference between the two. When I initially did an upgrade on my iPad 3 I chose the restore option (which was the wrong way to go). My iPad was pretty much bricked so I put my device into DFU mode and was able to restore back down to 5.1.1 even though Apples own website said you can't.
Turn by turn works on my iPhone4.
Everything seems to work very well.
However, I am VERY disappointed with the quality of Siri's voice. It's a big step down from the clarity of iOS 5.1. She sounds muffled as though the treble has been dropped way down, and, she sounds as if she has a stuffy nose...very nasal-like.
Odd, since Apple states: "Flyover and turn-by-turn navigation will be available only on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 or later."Turn by turn works on my iPhone4.
Just buy one. No need to actually develop something heheAbout the time where most people on this forum wish they had developer accounts.
Maybe because it's a beta product on a beta iOS version.
No. Read the beta instructions. You cannot downgrade to iOS5.

Hi there. I renewed my developer ID straight away after the announcement, now when I try and download the new software it says access denied, gives me error P1. Anyone know the problem?
Or they'll just called it iTunes X and rev it up. (kidding)
Renewing membership, then it's all go!
