Right basically got myself into a bit of a pickle. My power button stopped working a few days ago and so using any dfu methods is impossible as far as i can see.

Since then i tried to update to the new ios beta , and because i like to rush ahead and do things. I didnt realise you needed the dev activated device stuff.
:( stupid eh?

I have install ios6 but t gets to a screen were it says the device is not activated it as to be on the dev program . The same message appears on itunes when i plug it in, with no other options available except "eject". Since i was sort of stuck i decide to try a site offering to activate my udid to work with dev program . But that doesnt seem to have solvedanything i still run into the same problems .

I believe my iphone was in warranty but have i void it now. What are the apple store people likely to say/charge/do Or does anyone have any suggestions as a way out of this hole :)

Thanks

I would try a local repair shop to fix your power button. I wouldn't personally take it to Apple. Once your power button is fixed, DFU restore back to 5.1.1

*facepalm*

I thought about that but wouldnt that void waranty with apple and so spoil the chance of a replacment . Ive seen that many get replacements when the power button is stuck.

I guess i could see what apple say and then if they say ihave to pay for a replacment . Take it to be repairedand decide which is worth it

Have you registered your UDID yet? once you do that, it should start working again (you may need to restart the phone, that's all

What do you think voids the warranty? Are you legitimately running iOS 6?

I registered it on a site for like $9 not the $99 package from apple . How can i restart my phone though its basically stuck

Ive no idea if its legitimate . Is having a third party activate my udid for $9 legit ?

Can you manually update or restore it from iTunes? That restarts it.

Nope when i have the phone in itunes it says iphoneon the side . When i click that it trys t activate but then just displays an error saying it needs to be a developer activated device and theres no options given

Double useless

Touche.

However, problems like these come from buying a devs UDID slot to have something which is in BETA installed on a handset with a known fault. Hence, not one, but two facepalms for you sir.

On a more helpful note, I would take it to a repair shop, probably not Apple.

No. Not even a little. Devs aren't supposed to sell slots. Your issues should be taken up with the Dev and once restored, take your phone into Apple to have repaired.
