Dunno whats up with all the negative hype. I updated to iOS 6 on my 4S last night via itunes. Didn't restore just did an update. Giving that it took about 1.5 hours to be done with the whole thing im absolutely content with what iOS 6 has to offer. Here are my postive thoughts on iOS.

1) Update process was flawless. The whole OS looks and performs really well. Menu's open fast, I see absolutely no lag. All my apps launch faster.

2) App store redesign is amazing. Yes, I did find it abit weird with the horizontal scrolling but after 5 minutes I realize what the upsides are. First you have more content this way. Before youd have featured on one page, then youd have to tap to go to whats hot, or the editors choices. In this you have all of that in one page. Same goes for the top charts. You have free, paid and grossing all in one page. Icons look nice, small with prices written underneath. You just have to get used to it. I also like the black design it blends in with the phones screen specially on my black model so its like the black screen and the app are continuous. The app store opens REALLY fast and loads instantaneously compared to the old app store which would load thumbnails slowly and if you tried to scroll it would stick a little. The screen shots load faster too. I love the new DELTA upgrades. Ever upgrade a huge 1GB game? Well I just did, and most of the updates were less than 50 MB. Updates were faster, didn't kick me out of the store. The whole app store looks polished.

3) Maps. Yes they are lacking specially in my part of the world. Im sure they are better in america. I don't use maps much but a few postives about maps are they are REALLY fast, on my edge connection they load up in a matter of seconds. GPS is more accurate and I think if you give this a few more months with their crowd sourced data youll see major improvements. Also I believe google will release a maps app very soon. Till then I see this as a good step.

4) Battery life is just amazing, even though I did an update. I have 110 apps on my phone everything went flawlessly. I have 4 hours of usage on my phone right now and 15 hours standby. Ive been on whatsapp non stop. Played an hour of dead trigger. Been updating apps and checking the whole thing out. And in 4 hours my battery is down 75% this is heavy use im talking about people. Which is amazing. I feel I'm going to get more than 10 hours of this charge.

5) Privacy settings are awesome. You have complete control over what apps can access what info on your phone. Every toggle is neatly placed in one menu.

6) The keyboard is more solid. Its registering my touches better.

7) The music app is just amazing. I love the new look. The theme, buttons everything is just amazing. I think they are using some new algorithms to process music because my songs sound really good on iOS 6.

8) Panorama = Amazing. Photo capture speed is also increased.

9) I had issues with all my facebook contacts being added to the contact list. But I just clicked groups and there I could hide the facebook ones, which only left my icloud contacts with their unified facebook info.

10) Shared photo stream is an amazing concept. I'm going to japan in a week this is going to come in handy sharing our photos with friends and family.

These are just a few of the good things I can say about iOS 6, im sure there are like a hundred more. I think apple have done a good job with this and the iphone 5 and the new retina mac book. I don't know why people are so against it maybe its always been this way. I'm new to apple.

So far I'm liking it very much as well. Haven't had much time to play around with it yet, but I definitely like the new outlook in both the Music and App Store as well as the Settings menu. The Shared Photo Stream is a very cool new feature. Am looking forward to try the new Maps and Siri in Spanish here in Barcelona.

The download and install went very smooth. Had it downloaded in less than 10 minutes and installed within 30 minutes. Nothing is missing, which there shouldn't either. :)

I'm on a 4S.
