SMS is dead.
What about delivery notifications for email?
SMS is dead.

I want an envelope to show when I have new email. I want an "f" to show when I have a facebook notification, I want to see an icon that notifies that my phone is on silent, etc. This is already possible by jailbreaking but it really should be an option for users to enable.
This would be great. To be honest i had always thought there was a icon to show it was on silent. For something so simple i'm surprised they didn't show it. I never realized i have to turn my phone to the side to make sure its on silent or not when i could just look at the screen if they included an icon.
9.) Better Usage meters
With the carriers ditching unlimited plans for tiered data plans, this is a necessity. Data is easily consumed (especially over 4G) nowadays and there should be a built in usage monitor. Alerts should also be able to be set up so that users don't accidentally go over their limits.
Most carriers have apps (My AT&T, My Verizon, ect) that you can use to get your usage. The phone usage would be skewed because its going to count data even when you are on wifi which doesn't count against your plan, so it is not representative of your data usage.
Interesting, I didn't think AT&T tallied up data usage real-time. I thought they reconciled usage at around 1 am. So the usage meter, via the app, shouldn't be accurate until the next day. The usage meter on the phone should actually be accurate since Apple would know when the cellular radio is being used.In regards to your comment on Point 6, you think that it's too complicated to just look at the switch on the side of the phone to see if it's on silent???? that's the most absurd thing i've heard and flat out lazy......
as for your comment on point 9, i agree, each carrier has an app that monitors usage which is more accurate. there is a native usage meter on the phone already, but it is rolling from when you got the device, all you have to do is reset it each month. it's specifically cellular data usage and a seperate section for tether. it doesn't count wifi data. So the usage meter is already in there. in regard to the OP's comment about alerts before going over limit, that's down to the carrier rather than Apple. I know that Orange and O2 here in the UK both text when you're approaching your limits and then when you've reached it.

I never said its too complicated. I was just saying for some reason i thought there was already a icon on the screen.
But then i thought back and realized that ever since i had an iPhone i just turned the phone to look at the switch to see if it is on silent
Thanks! I look forward to hearing your responses!Hi bisnicks,
What I really like about your post is that you have out a lot of thought in it. I also like the fact that you give a clear discription. I have quickly read through your list and there are some points I agee with. There are, however, also some points I do not agree with or of which I feel should be dealt with in a different matter.
It's near midnight here right now, so I'm going to bed, but tomorrow I'll post a new reaction and will type a response to all your 'hopes' (requested features) - with feedback of course.

they should add this feature..the ability to take a picture while recording video..some htc phones already have that feature.
I put my thoughts to your fixes in bold. I agree with most of them. I'm not asking for a major UI overhaul but some changes are needed.
I'm running iOS5.1 and I can add pictures to albums. Here's what you have to do:
1) Go to your Camera Roll.
2) Tap the icon on the top.
3) Tap on all the pictures you want to move to an album
4) Tap "Add to Existing Album" or "Create New Album".
You can figure out the rest.
- Removing/ hiding pre-installed apps.
- Cart for mobile app stores
Is there any purpose of that, or did you just see that on <insert other mobile OS here>?
