After using IOS 6 beta for a while Ive noticed that there is no option to tag yourself 'with friends' in the new IOS 6 notification Centre Facebook Status update thing.

So Ive created a concept that may work if implemented by Apple, its my first attempt at it so go easy on me aha.

Anyway ive also sent it off to apple to see if they can put it in before the IOS 6 GM is out.

Good idea, but i'm willing to bet money Facebook doesn't want that. They want the most basic integration in iOS because what they really want is for you to be in their app most of the time. Which is douchey! Both the app and FB itself

Yeah probably, that would be a stupid move. As the way I see it now is that people will get used to using the notification centre to post statuses. So if there is a feature missing (like tagging friends) they just wont use it anymore.

Once users get used to the ease of quickly posting a update they wont want to go into the app just to tag a friend in the status.

Agreed! it would save me a lot of time and anger towards that crappy app :D

Thanks :) and Kind of like this? (Just Not so fuzzy)
yep just like that. I have noticed that if you are in messages in landscape mode you can pull the NC down in landscape mode and the window pops up in landscape like your pic, just wish it would switch to landscape after its opened.

Just to keep you updated, I reported this via Apple's Bug Reporting system. They have closed the issue now and said that the matter has been reported before and they are working on it :)

My "tap to post" post field already has an option to tag friends. It's had it for at least a couple of days I think. But I don't have the privacy drop down.

That button is just to select which group of friends can see your post.

That looks smart. I was a bit suprised when I found you couldn't tag friends or upload photos via the notification centre

I agree, in fact I'm not entirely sure the option to tag is even included in Facebook's ios API, at least I didn't find it when I originally included Facebook to my apps. Which would make sense if facebook want to keep users on their app/page. Apple may ave access to some private APIs though.

@AaronG123 did they say anything about being able to switch to landscape mode once the window has come up lol?
In my original bug report I didn't mention the Facebook tap to post landscape issue as although being annoying I can't see apple making the whole of notifaction centre landscape just for tap to post for Facebook.

The way it currently works is not too bad. If the app is in landscape mode then notification centre will be in landscape and so will the Facebook tap to post sheet.

Yeah I found you can do that, but would it be hard for them to allow it to switch to landscape after its open. Would make it a lot easier to type that's for sure.
