I've done a forum search on this and nothing jumped out.

I live in Concord, California (San Francisco East Bay).
My iPhone 4S cell reception has always been weak (1 - 3 bars 4G). After upgrading to iOS 6 (full install via iTunes then restore from backup) my reception is even worse. I frequently get 'No Service' or one bar around the house and on my street.

I talked to an AT&T rep A YEAR AGO and he showed me that they were upgrading towers in my area this year. Meh.

Anything I can do to my phone to try to improve reception, or shall I just go and complain to AT&T?

I have 4 smartphones under contract with AT&T so I can't just jump ship to Verizon.

Well, I don't live in SF, but if the only change was iOS 6, then you should search Apple Support Discussions and/or speak with AppleCare Tech Support about your concern.

I doubt AT&T would actually care how many bars you lost, as long as you are still paying them. They would probably refer you to Apple, anyway.

Just a thought.

I "upgraded" my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and it resulted in crappy reception too...and I'm not just getting fewer bars, but garbled conversations like I was calling overseas in 1945 or something.

I also have AT&T and iOS 6 on my 4S, however I had full bars before and I have full bars now. I did run into a problem with the new case I bought, as it was killing my reception. Took it off, back to normal.
