Choppy animations on iPad

I hope the choppy animations on my 4th gen iPad go away. I'm seriously disappointed with iOS 7 on the iPad so far.

I surely hope not. Whatever, you will still get an ocean of cry babies, no matter what you give them.

Agreed

Me and my mate like iOS 7, the problem is I come here to socialise with fellow enthusiasts and read articles most people come on a forum to moan and complain over usually trivial things that millions have no problem with.

People keep wanting to go back to iOS 6 but they meanthe complete year old version not the POS it was on launch ... IOS 7 has been far better than that even on iPhone 4 and itwill get much better over time.

You mean like iPhone OS/iOS 1.0.1, 1.0.2, 1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.4, 1.1.5, 2.0.2, 2.2.1, 3.0.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.2.1, 3.2.2, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.2.5, 4.2.6, 4.2.7, 4.2.8, 4.2.9, 4.2.10, 4.3.2, 4.3.3, 4.3.4, and 4.3.5?

i remember iOS 4 updates was mostly Airplay. It was great. :apple:

For 7.1: airdrop between Mac and iOS would be nice. Besides that, iCloud needs some big new feature cause right now it "just work". This is fine but come on: iMessage in the browser, a central place for all types of files (i'm not living in Pages Apple!),

data leakage

You would have thought a company with as much secrecy as Apple would re-write the iOS (and other OS/product versions) to publicly available version numbers in the browsers strings when they left the privacy of the firm's networks...

The first and important bug is the lowmemory issues with ipad air.
In my ipad crash safari everyday a lot.
The log reveals 15-20 lowmemory errors.

In the iphone 5 looks perfect.

The ipad version is a bugger version.

May I ask which carrier model iPhone you have? My AT&T i5 has had nothing but problems with iOS 7. Biggest problem was shutting down thinking the battery was at 0%, when it was actually around 25%, and it would only do it while I was connected to the cell network. And the battery life itself was terrible.

They did for me. I'm running 6.1.4 on a nice, shiny replacement iPhone 5. I was very polite, but insistent. Though my main problem was the phone kept shutting down around 25%.

So to go back to a working device, after Apple broke it for you, you had to replace the entire device rather than just the software, now what is wrong with this picture....

Kudos to getting a replacement though.

Never before have I been so excited about minor iOS updates. iOS 7 was (and continues to be) so buggy on launch - much more so than any prior version of iOS that I remember using.

Let's hope that iOS 7.0.4 is less crashy and works better. That's really all I want at this point - they can even leave the ugly Safari icon alone.

Since the recent updates my iPad is useless for email. My exchange account no longer works (and won't reinstall) and my earthlink account can't send email. It's totally frustrating. Friends are telling me the same thing so it looks like Apple has a real problem here (and so do us users).

I was pretty shocked they stocked a refurb iPhone 5 with 6.1.4 software. But to answer your question, I don't think they're allowed to flash the phone back once they've signed off on 7. Otherwise, they'd be overwhelmed with customers coming in just for the old software. I did have to speak with the supervisor to get the replacement phone. My argument was that I'm a field tech and I use the phone a LOT on the cell network and can't have the phone shutting down for no good reason (only times it would shut down were on the cell network). And I was only getting around 3 hours of usable time before it would shut down. Their diagnostic did catch the shutdowns, which helped me get the new phone.

Nice work mate. I don't think they should downgrade phones for you, but they should offer the option through iTunes etc. I bet you weren't the only one to go through that in order to go back to iOS6. It is a bit easier perhaps when you state it's for work purposes you need to go back to iOS6.

Is anyone else experiencing bugginess on their Ipad Air? It's so buggy on mine it feels like beta software. When I change stuff in the settings it force closes, Safari force closes etc.

*I mean 7.0.3 not 4.

My iPad Air is running flawlessly. My iPhone4 on the other hand has lag. I turned off animations, but it just isn't as responsive as it was with iOS 6. I like Safari and Control Panel too much to go back though.

I think the issues with iTunes Match and iTunes Radio are they are using to high of a bitrate for mobile data. Soundcloud and Pandora work well, but I think they use lower quality streams. It would be good if they could recognize if you were using 3G/LTE/WiFi and adjust the bitrate accordingly.

Yes please fix the music app and itunes match.

I'm sick of my music constantly stopping playing and having to click play to restart it. It does this even when I'm playing a song i have stored on the iphone itself.

Really frustrating.

I also can't find any use for the landscape view album scrolling. It looks nice, but I'd rather have it function in some other manner. I have too much music for it to be useful at all in its current form.

I wish the update(s) would bring the following improvements/functionality/fixes:

#1. BATTERY LIFE - battery life - battery life. (Had my iPhone 5 for three months, and have yet to calibrate my battery. I know I have to do it, sooner or later). I'm not a heavy user, and somehow I have become quite obsessive with its percentage display.
#2. Better iMessage synching between iOS and OS X Mavericks. Sometimes it works, some others it doesn't.
#3. Random reboots/respring - I have never experienced those back in the iOS6 days. Now, the phone respings even after changing the wallpaper and after resetting the phone.
#4. Gmail.
#5. The keypad when dialing. The backspace button is hardly visible; I think it should be bigger and noticeable.
#6. The chance to split "Reduce motion" and Parallax into two different features.

All the best,
^MPY

Is there a way to turn off fade transitions? I realized I don't want them on my iPhone, but I don't mind them on my iPad.

Have they fixed the icons yet? That's the only bad part about iOS 7 that I can still see after using it for 2 months.

Seriously, those inconsistent gradients are killing me. Which way is the light shining from? Up, down, sideways, downways, longways, shortways?

Just flatten them out completely. Oh, and change the Safari, Game Center, and Settings icons stat. Those need serious cleanup.

Fingers crossed the white backgrounds have become black.
And the font rendering is cleaned up.
And the colors are sorted out.
And
And
And

And they let me revert to iOS 6 or whichever version I want to use.
And they fix the absolutely horrid Calendar.
And
And
:D

Just give me back the ability to delete artists and albums.. seriously, why did they get rid of this feature?! Erasing every single song is a pain in the ass.. not to mention the app crashes every time you do! Also, glad I'm not alone on hating having expanded lists in artist view.

Don't feel bad. The ipad air still has some slight choppiness too. It's ios7 for sure.

Yeah agreed the music app is a total disaster. No reason to strip out the hallmark functionality that the music app had for 6 years. Cover flow indeed is useless since albums are all over the damn place.

Well, my iPhone 5 is now sold, and my new SIM card activated in my lovely new Nexus 5. Even today using my iPhone (I didn't get my new SIM till this afternoon), iOS7 locked up trying to call a number. It's crap, pure buggy beta level crap. But I couldn't stand it's looks or user experience first and foremost. If Apple gave me an option to go back to iOS6 I would have done so and stayed, but Apple doesn't do things like that.

So I am a very happy non iOS7 camper and I most certainly did NOT let the door hit me in the rear end as I walked out. I slammed it open first!

Tis a bit of an eye opener having a 5" screen that's for sure! I can see what all the Galaxy Note boy's were raving about now.

I agree that if they allowed us to load whatever OS version we wanted things would be different, especially on older hardware.

I've been thinking it's time to shake loose from Cupertino's grip as well. I'm tired of waiting for Apple's version of what I want. IOS 7 is not it. The retina MBPs are not it (MBP 17 lover). The iPhone 5/5s is not it (want a bigger screen). The new Mac Pro (while nice-ish) is not it (not an improvement over the last one--it's really a different machine altogether). They keep taking away access to things like RAM and HDDs.

The more I look at it, the more I realize that the Apple I loved died with Steve. The majority of stuff they're putting out is simply not for me. The saddest part is that the alternatives are not any better. So I am relegated to buying from the refurbished section, while keeping an eye out for other vendors and what they're doing.

I find it ironic that the iPhone, the device that was somewhat of a halo device, is the one that I'll be moving away from (to something like a Nexus device). This can serve as a backdoor/justification to quitting Apple altogether, something I NEVER would have even considered a year ago.

At least I'll waste less work time posting on MacRumors!:p
