Ios 7

I up graded the ipad from IOS6 to 7 and the battery is a runaway, drains much faster than IOS6..
Anyone else experienced this?

Not sure if this has been touched one before as I only just got back on the board.

Muddy

No problems here, got 16 hours usage and 6 1/2 days standby last week. When I upgraded from iOS 6, I DFU'd to 7 and restored from an iCloud backup. Worked like a treat with no discernible loss in usage.

Thanks, I just used it at the Gym for 1 hour, read emails and looked at a couple of sites and FaceBook..went from 100 to 79 percent.
when I was on 6 it lasted forever, or so it seemed!

iOS 7.1 battery life thread

This is on a Verizon iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1 Beta 1. On Wi-Fi majority of the day. Not bad. Solid day's usage out of it. Was on wifi from 8am-11am and then on wifi again from around 1pm to now (around 5:45pm).

Well I'm not turning anything off and brightness is full. Because I don't believe you should handicap your phone to get an extra hour's use out of it.

Mail is set to push. Auto brightness at full. Push notifications for nearly all apps.

And your phone is 1 generation newer.

On my iPhone 5 with 3G it drained EXTREMELY fast, had to recharge after 2 hours

I am not turning anything off. Only thing I turned off are some of the location services like frequent locations. Brightness on auto, Bluetooth and wifi on...I'm an advocate at not crippling my phone either...

My old iPhone 5 would easily get 8 hours usage also with same behavior. Although I have not used 7.1 on an iPhone 5 I can't image it being that different...

Everything on my phone is on including frequent locations. I use it in the N.C for time to get home.

I don't turn anything off or down except for Bluetooth because i don't own anything Bluetooth oriented.

You are still getting lousy battery life.

You are still getting lousy battery life.

It really depends on the type of usage. That's one thing I miss about android. The usage was broken down so I could see what was actually using my battery.

This is my usage with about 45 minutes in phone calls. The rest is constant emails/texts and a lot of browsing throughout the day.

Here are my stats. I'm getting great battery life on my 5S. I live in a particularly crappy signal area. Wifi on, push notifications on, one push mail, one fetch every 30 mins, frequent locations on, dynamic wallpaper on, reduce motion off, bluetooth always on. This was with around 40 mins of calls, lots of whatsapp, 10 mins FaceTime, 40 mins of asphalt 8, about an hour of browsing and some messages.

The real key is the signal strength in the screenshot. If that's an indicator of what you get for most if the day it explains a lot. I'm convinced the 5 has an issue with low signal strength. Bottom line, if you happy then keep on enjoying your phone.

Can't complain...wifi browsing, music, text and emails...

Agreed. My 5S battery life has been nothing short of phenomenal. Over 10 hours usage on first charge with 18% left. Never have had this on any other iPhone or any other IOS. Apple did some HUGE tweaking compared to 7.0.4. 7.1 is totally a keeper.
